A beautiful hand?carved amethyst pin/pendant from the late Art Deco (ca1930) era! This artistic?piece is particularly large in size and comprised of?a vivid purple stone that fades dark to light in color. The convex shaped stone has a heavily carved surface with a flowing floral motif. The amethyst is pinch bezel set and framed by a natural seed pearl border which is strung on fine wire. Accenting the 4 north, south east, and west corners are black and green enameled accents, completing the beautiful Deco design perfectly. On the back of the pin/pendant is a hinged bail as well is a secure pin clasp, allowing the piece to easily be worn as a pin or pendant. The pin clasp is stamped "14K". The pin/pendant has a wonderful and unusual design and would make a perfect everyday addition to any collection!
Measurements: When worn as a pendant, the piece hangs approximately 1 7/8" long, is 1 1/8" at the widest point, and approximately?3/8" thick.
Condition: The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, large amethyst stone and all of the pearls are intact. The hinged bail and pin clasp are secure and in good working condition. There is some minimal wear to the enameling, however, this is not noticeable when the piece is worn.
